Syllabus – Examination Methods in Cardiology
Optional subject for the 4th year medical students

Prerekvisite: exam Introduction to clinical medicine 3rd year
Time schedule
- Invasive cardiology, introduction – lecture. How and when indicate the invasive examination of heart and coronary arteries. Possibility of treatment.
- Invasive cardiology – practical part. Students visit the cath lab and see how the examination is provided.
- Nuclear cardiology. The scintigraphic methods used in cardiology.
- Inherited and acquisited heart defects. Echocardiography. Heart defects, classification, clinical presentation, diagnostics. Ultrasound examination of the heart.
- Basic arrhythmias, ECG. Heart rhythm and it´s disturbances, ECG basic findings of arrhythmias.

Examination methods in angiology. Diseases of peripheral veins and arteries, clinical presentation, examination methods.
