Dear colleague,
On behalf of the newly appointed management of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine I would like to inform you of our new approach and treatment of English-speaking classes.
Please be ensured that our main goal is quality. You and your colleagues from the English-speaking classes are very important to us since you create the international character of our school. Therefore we would like to provide you with the best quality we can. We are aware of the fact that some other schools simply consider English-speaking students as a source of income, without paying much attention to the quality of their study program. Although this attitude might have appeared occasionally also in our school, this is definitely not the way we want to go now.
Therefore, we would like discuss ways to improve the education we provide to you. As the first step, we would like to invite all our English-speaking students to an informal meeting, which will be held on May 30, 2006, 5PM (17.00). Please, respond to my secretary Ms Helena Ulovcová (@email) if you intend to come. Depending on the number of people we will set the place of the meeting.
As announced at the Academic Council, we will establish a continuous motivation plan for the best students in the English-speaking parallel. The students up to the best 5 % within the English-speaking parallel, provided that they also fit to the top 8 % of all students, will get half of their last annual tuition refunded. This program will be effective since the next school year. Details of this plan will be announced at the meeting. For your information, in the last school year the 5th percentile of the English parallel was equal to the 8th percentile of all medical students (mean grading 1.11).
Should you have burning questions before the meeting, please do not hesitate to address them to the Study Department or to Vlasta Dvorak (@email), your representative at the Academic Council.
I wish you a successful semester,
Ondrej Hrušák
