Scientific Conference

This year's Scientific Conference of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine will take place on the 24th and 25th of April each day starting at 10.30 a.m. in the Big Lecture Hall. Do not forget that lessons are cancelled both days from 10.00 a.m.

This year a large number of active participants have signed up for the Conference (102 in total). So as a result we will hear 24 lectures and will be able to see 78 posters (under the supervision of experienced chairmen as usual). The lectures are divided into sections according to their topics, and are accompanied by lectures of invited speakers.
 
The main guests of the Conference are significant personalities from completely different scientific fields. Jaroslav Flégr from the Faculty of Science in Prague is known for his research on the effects of toxoplasmic infection on human behavior (as well as other mammals), and he is also an evolutionary biologist and a science promoter. And on the 24th of April he will be talking about evolutionary biology. Jakub Tolar graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine but right after graduation he left for the USA and worked his way up to being a respected specialist in transplant and gene therapy of congenital diseases and regenerative medicine which is currently very much in fashion.
 
And the traditional Wednesday cultural interlude of the Conference – Motol version of the ECG programme: About Love and Death performed by the famous poet J. H. Krchovský under the supervision and coparticipance of hosts Igor Malijevsky and Jaroslav Rudiš. And musically accompanied by the erratic Lumír von Bejda.
 
Right after the end of the Thursday programme we will be heading to the Motol Mile Race of variable weather as well as length but always in white gowns! Whether the Dean, Radek Špíšek, brothers Seemans or Jan Zuna will run (and the shape they will be in) you will see on the spot. Get registered while there are enough start numbers available!
 
The final party will be held in the club Dr. Voják – the band FreeQ with Tomáš Hecht and matadors of the rock'n'roll entertainment Bedřich a zoufalci followed by the merry dance party with DJ Jiří Vítek. Non-smoking environment of the club, a richer offer of refreshment and an outdoor tent.
