Intensive care (a 14-bed intensive care unit), treatment of serious conditions, non-invasive ventilation support and artificial lung ventilation. Programme of lung transplantation, pre-transplantation examination. Interventional bronchological treatment of patients afflicted with stenosis of big airways. Early diagnostics of bronchogenic carcinoma, oncological treatment, including chemotherapy. A centre for the treatment of adult patients suffering from cystic fibrosis. Sleep laboratory for monitoring respiratory disturbances in sleep. Councelling service for asthmatic patients and COPD. Research activities concern mainly the early diagnostics of lung cancer by means of autoflorescence, interventional bronchology and study of pathogenesis of COPD. Undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
