This year's Rector's Special Prize was awarded to Florian Merkle, a sixth-year student of General Medicine (English parallel line) at the Second Faculty of Medicine for his remarkable civic responsibility and human selflessness.

The Second Faculty of Medicine has placed highly in a review of quality in higher education. It gained top marks for its international openness, value of study and teachers, and for the number of yearly applicants and their high standard.
