In the last weekend of April, faculty members from the 2nd Faculty of Medicine and students from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Faculties of Medicine of Charles University went on a trip to Eastern Bohemia. We toured Litomyšl and Nové Hrady chateaus as well as the town Polička, learned about regional and artistic history, and generally spent a weekend enriching ourselves in a manner that was almost wholly unrelated to medicine. The birth places of a couple of Czech composers were on display, and a collection of barnyard and wild animals was offered up for petting (except the porcupine, which was just to look at). Nové Hrady chateau had owners on the premises, and while we could look and wave, we were not allowed to feed or pet them.
While not as wild as some of the school's previous outings, a good time was had by all and we're looking forward to the next trip.
