I chose medicine for many reasons. The first is the well-known one – the desire to help people. I also believe it is one of the most diverse fields, offering numerous avenues to explore. It’s truly one of those ever-evolving fields that constantly challenges you and provides continuous learning opportunities.
I have a strong interest in surgery, and I completed an internship in that area, so I might pursue that path.

Hi, I chose this university because I have always wanted to be a doctor. Charles University is one of the most prestigious institutions, and I’m eager to become part of its legacy, contribute to its future, and make a meaningful impact.
I aspire to become a surgeon, though I haven’t decided on a specific area yet. Perhaps cardiovascular surgery, but I’ll see where my studies lead me.

Hi, I’m Kaustubhi, and I study at the Second Faculty of Medicine. Today is a big day, and it reminds me of why I chose medicine. I was just 6 years old when I realized I wanted to pursue this path, and it feels surreal to finally be starting my studies. I have always loved science, helping others, and communication. I’m a very social person who enjoys meeting new people, so this career seemed like the perfect blend of science and interpersonal connection.
As for my specialty, I’m still undecided. I’m torn between obstetrics and gynaecology, and neurology. These next six years will help me figure it out.

Hi, my name is Arya, and I’m from India. I hope to specialize in oncology in the future. Initially, I didn’t know I wanted to pursue medicine, but after working at a nearby hospital and witnessing the impact doctors have on patients and their families, I was deeply moved. It inspired me to connect with people in the same way I’ve seen doctors do, and I hope to achieve that in the future at Charles University.
