Researchers From ENT, Immunology and Pathology Won the Kutvirt Prize

Dr. Zuzana Střížová (project supervisor, senior and corresponding author), prof. Jiřina Barůňková, Mgr. Jitka Smetanová (all from the Institute of Immunology of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and Motol Unviersity Hospital) and dr. Linda Čapková (Institute of Pathology and Molecular Medicine of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and Motol Unviersity Hospital) are among the authors of the award-winning publication of the Czech Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery.

The study by Votava M, Bartolini R, Capkova L, Smetanova J, Jiri V Jr, Kuchar M, Kalfert D, Plzak J, Bartunkova J, Strizova Z.: The expression profiles of CD47 in the tumor microenvironment of salivary gland cancers: a next step in histology-driven immunotherapy was published in the BMC Cancer magazine on 28 September 2022 with the impact factor of 4,638.

The award was accepted for the whole team by Michal Votava from the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the First Faculty of Medicine and Motol Unviersity Hospital on the 84th congress of the Czech Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (http://www.orl2023.cz/), which took place between 31 May and 2 June in České Budějovice.
