Focus of the Department:

Molecular genetic techniques for the diagnosis of bacterial, viral, mycotic, and parasitic infections. Investigations focus on infections brought on by Burkholderia cepacia, Helicobacter pylori, and herpes viruses; biological results in cancer patients are closely observed. The workplace serves as a resource for antibiotic treatment counselling. Clinical microbiology issues, such as test result interpretation and diagnosis, differential diagnosis, pathogenicity issues, anti-infectious immunology, and antimicrobial therapy, are the major areas of emphasis for the department.
