Brief Descriptions:
Dental and maxillofacial surgery education for general medicine students, PhD programs in dentistry, orthodontics and maxillo-facial surgery.
Diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive programs in:
- children and adults complex dental care with a focus on children and adolescent diseases
- treatment of handicapped patients under sedation or general anesthesia
- maxillofacial surgery
- birth defects and maxillofacial anomalies
- injuries and tumors of the face and jaws
- skull base surgery
- dental implantology
- prosthodontics
- periodontology
- orthodontics
- temporomandibular joint disorders
Complicated and congenital diseases, e.g. tumors, vascular malformations or traumas, are planned for operation and treated at an interdisciplinary cooperation, which also benefits from the expertise of a multidisciplinary head and neck therapy team to minimize the risk of surgical interventions. The dentists, orthodontists, prosthodontics, implantologists and maxillofacial surgeons work together in multidisciplinary teams to provide the optimal individual combination of treatments. Research projects form the basis of future developments.
