This year’s PragueIntervention will be divided up into three blocks: Cardiomyopathy, Imaging Methods and Surgical or Interventional Treatment of Cardiovascular Illnesses. Our international guests Dr. Desai from Cleveland and Dr. Kimmelstiel from Boston are well-known experts in the fields of non-invasive imaging methods, interventional cardiology and cardiomyopathy. Czech cardiologists will have the rare opportunity to hear their lectures for the first time in a Czech setting, in the magnificent hall of Břevnov Monastery. Milind Desai, MD (Heart and Vascular Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, USA) is an expert in multimodality cardiovascular imaging and has achieved the highest level of proficiency in CMR, Cardiac CT, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. His interests include evaluation and management of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, complex valvular disease, complex CAD, pericardial diseases, aortic diseases and radiation heart disease. He is one of the leading scientists working on clinical applications of imaging methods in cardiology.
Carey Kimmelstiel, MD (Tufts Medical Center, Boston, USA) is an expert in interventional cardiology and one of the leaders and pioneers in the field of structural interventions. Dr. Kimmelstiel is known around the World for his research in the field of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
