The scientific festival Week of the Czech Academy of Sciences (following on from the former Week of Science and Technology of the Czech Academy of Sciences) includes lectures, exhibitions, events at workplaces, documentary films, workshops and many other activities across the entire republic and all scientific fields. It is intended for high school students as well as the general public.

Fear Does Not Belong on a Magnet
The lecture-oriented afternoon will be dedicated to the popularization of brain research in the field of epileptology and neuro-oncology. Through the EasyMR programme, which helps both children and adults cope with magnetic resonance imaging without fear, the research teams of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Motol University Hospital and EpiReC Prague will present a look into the nooks and crannies of the brain in patients with epilepsy and brain tumors. We will learn how to find something inside the head that cannot be seen, as well as how to determine the molecular nature of the tumor and the response to treatment without a needle and biopsy.
