5) Miscellaneous

  1. Mr. Michal Pelíšek pointed out that there would be a modification of the Electoral Statutes and the Rule of Procedure ASCU. The following points are of special importance for Faculty senates.
    1. any proposal to be approved by university AS (including the proposal on changes in internal faculty regulations) must be submitted 8 weeks before ASCU session, in well-founded cases the term can be shortened to 6 weeks, it is the Presidium of ASCU that will make a decision on this matter
    2. an ASCU member who gets a Master´s or Bachelor degree and intends to take on either Master studies or the Postgradual studies automatically becomes the first substitute, after an enrolment he/she again becomes the senator. According to the present rules new election had to be held in these cases.
Result: The senate takes this information into account.

  2. RNDr. Petr Blanický informed the senate about preparatory procedures for the entrance examinations – acad. year 2002/2003:
Master´s study of Medicine the overall number of applicants 1000
    Bachelor´s study of Fysiotherapy   353
Bachelor´s study of Optics and Optometry   77
PVT company that used to analyse the tests withdrew from the contract and this year´s examinations will be processed by other computer center.
  3. Referring to the set up of a preparatory year for a new study programme at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine the senate asks the Dean´s commitee to give information concerning the concept of the extension of bachelor study programmes at the Faculty.

  4. The ASCU sent a proposal on the comments, a proposal on the modification of the CU Statutes and a proposal on changes of the Scholarship CU Rules. The proposal will be mailed to all AS members, the Dean´s office will take any comments until 22. 5. 2002.

The AS comments concerning the proposal on changes of the Scholarship Rules:
Art. 4, par. 3 – the text ‘5.000’ is changed into the text ‘6.000’: the Faculty senate did not approve the increase of the lower limit of the payment having taken the Faculty financial situation into consideration. According to the senate members the payment should remain in the present state. The upper limit of the scholarship which is strictly given could in worse financial situation result in reducing the number of students being entitled for the scholarship.

  • The AS shifted the date of the next – June meeting because of the dates of the entrance examinations for the Academ. year 2002/2003 (17, 18 and 19 of June 2002). Senate session will be held on Wednesday 12. 6. 2002.
