At its regular meeting on 11 September 2024, the Academic Senate of the Second Faculty of Medicine, in accordance with its Code of Electoral Procedure, Article 1, paragraphs 1 and 2, announces elections to the Academic Senate of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University for the term of office from 1 February 2025 to 31 January 2027.
The Academic Senate set the following election dates:
- The first round will take place for both chambers (pedagogical and students’) electronically from 4 to 6 November 2024. The electoral system will be launched on 4 November 2024 at 8.00 a.m. and closed on 6 November 2024 at 6.00 p.m.
- The second round will take place for both chambers from 25 to 27 November 2024. The electoral system will be launched on 25 November 2024 at 8.00 a.m. and closed on 27 November 2024 at 6.00 p.m.
The main conditions met by the electoral system are:
- only a designated person from the IT department of the faculty has access to the electoral system, this person must not interfere with the election process,
- the electoral system must be accessible at the time specific when the election is announced,
- the system must not allow the display of interim election results,
- the system must check that the conditions for voting are met (in particular the election of a maximum of 12 candidates and, in the case of students, the election of candidates in their own community),
- only a person who is a member of the academic community of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University may vote in the system and only after logging in via CAS,
- each person entitled to vote can only vote once and cannot chase the ballot once it has been submitted,
- the system will not allow to trace how a particular voter voted,
- after the round is over, the system will allow an export with the total results and the number of voters in each chamber.
The Academic Senate determined the electoral communities in the Students’ Chamber as follows:
- 1st community – 1st and 2nd year class of General Medicine (Czech)
- 2nd community – 3rd year class of General Medicine (Czech)
- 3rd community – 4th year class of General Medicine (Czech)
- 4th community – 5th and 6th year class of General Medicine (Czech)
- 5th community – 1st to 6th year class of General Medicine (“foreign students”)
- 6th community – non-medical fields of study
- 7th community – 1st and 2nd year class of doctoral studies
- 8th community – 3rd and higher year class of doctoral studies
The Academic Senate approved the following composition of the Election Commission:
Academic staff (at least 3 members):
- RNDr. Karolina Škvárová, Ph.D.
- MUDr. Jan Strojil, Ph.D.
- MUDr. Petra Dohnalová
Students (at least 3 members):
- Agáta Vačkářová
- Zuzana Buksová
- Katarína Planetová
The Academic Senate further determined that the Election Commission shall follow the amended Manual of Elections to the AS of the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University (approved at the meeting of the AS on 11 September 2024).
The person responsible for the administrative course of the elections is the secretary of the faculty, Mgr. J. Šmejcká. The academic community will be informed about the course of the election on the faculty website.

- 11 September 2024 – announcement of elections at the regular meeting of the AS, including determination of the date, time and place of elections, approval of the composition of the election commission and division of the student chambre of the AS
- 4–6 November 2024 – first round of elections to the AS
- 25–27 November 2024 – second round of elections to the AS
Other dates are so far only indicative (to be decided by the election commission)
- 1 October2024 – addressing members of the academic community who are eligible to vote and be elected in both chambers
- 15 October2024 –deadline for the selection of a chamber for members of the academic community who are eligible to vote and be elected in both chambers
- 7 November 2024 – publication of the results of the first round on the faculty website and addressing of candidates by phone and e-mail
- 15 November 2024 – deadline for sending the consent to the candidacy
- 18 November 2024 – publication of candidates for the second round of elections
- 2 December 2024 – publication of the results of the elections to the AS
- 12 December 2024 – submission of the minutes on the elections to the chairman of the AS
