The student’s obligation is to regularly file the annual assessment (AA) of the ISP for the given academic year, in which the student reflects on how the fulfilment of previously outlined study requirements goes. The annual assessment has to be forwarded to the supervisor and the SAB for revision. Students who have their studies interrupted during and after the AA period or students who withdraw from their studies do not have to file the AA. The AA period is specified in the academic year calendar, usually from July 1 until August 31.
All students and supervisors are also informed about the AA by several emails sent with the manual on how to work with the SIS module.
The annual assessment must include:
- pairing of fulfilled requirements – the result must be inserted into SIS; please provide a scan/certificate of a study requirement completion
- pairing of publications and grants with the OBD or other databases – if your publication is not inserted in the OBD, please add it into the database and pair it in the AA
- adding any other requirements fulfilled that are missing in the ISP, requests for removal or postponing of study requirements
- comments on requirements and the progress on the dissertation
- a summarising commentary on the fulfilment of the ISP in the given academic year
We highly recommend staying in touch with your supervisor while making any amendments. After you forward the AA to your supervisor, it won’t be possible to make any changes.
The progress of AA:
After forwarding the AA to the supervisor, they attach their commentary and grade.
The conclusion is that the student:
- fulfils the ISP as scheduled
- does not fulfil some requirements given by the ISP without a proper justification
- did not fulfil the requirements given by the ISP; in that case, the student will be dismissed in accordance with the Code of Study and Examination of CU
Students can access the results of AA in SIS. Students and supervisors are also informed by an automatically generated email when the AA is forwarded to any level or approved.
Extraordinary Assessment
- If for any reason, especially due to interrupted studies, the assessment does not take place in September, it will take place at the earliest possible date after the obstacles preventing the assessment have been removed, so that the respective student is always assessed at least once in each year of their studies, with the exception of a situation where the next assessment is to take place earlier than three months according to the Academic Calendar.
- A PhD student may also undergo an extraordinary assessment if it is proposed during the annual assessment in September.
- The EA takes place in SIS in accordance with the respective academic calendar (usually 1 to 31 March) in the same manner as the annual assessment.
